What would it look like if a diverse group of stakeholders joined together to take action to strengthen the teaching profession? Last month, Harvard University’sTransforming Teaching Project released “From Quicksand to Solid Ground: Building a Foundation to Support Quality Teaching,” a white paper challenging policymakers and practitioners to tackle 12 specific initiatives to accomplish this goal. The paper has been endorsed by more than 30 organizations and education policy experts including American Federation of Teachers, Linda Darling-Hammond, Deans for Impact, Brad Jupp, National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, National Commission for Teaching and America’s Future, National Education Association, and Teach Plus.
Now, Harvard University and National Board for Professional Teaching Standards invite you to join us for a conversation with representatives of these organizations as they share their perspectives on ways policymakers and educators can move this work forward.
